Oxfordfest is an annual festival that takes place along historic Main Street in Oxford, Alabama. The festival features arts and craft vendors, as well as food, live music, fun for all ages, hourly prize drawings, and a $1,000 giveaway. Make plans now to attend!

My family had a great time supporting our Oxford Parks and Rec flag football team -- the Commanders. Our community came out and showed love for our Oxford City Schools students. It was awesome! I'm proud to live, work and play in Oxford. Special thanks to Josh Beshears at Beshears Automotive for the use of this sweet Ford F150. The kids loved it!

What a pleasure to follow Oxford City Schools graduate Curtis Sanders as he starts his college experience at Alabama A&M University. In May, Curtis was one of the first recipients of a scholarship in my name. I had the chance to catch up with him last week and learn how things are going for him. Curtis is pictured here (at left) with his mother, Kimberly Words Sanders. Q: Curtis, what major did you choose at Alabama A&M? C: I chose Electrical Engineering. Q: What are your goals for your freshman year? C: I want to achieve a 3.5 GPA and have perfect attendance in all my classes. Q: What's the best experience you've had at A&M this fall?
