The faces of Mandee’s that you might recognize today are that of John, owner since 1987, and his daughter, Alicia. John began working at Mandee’s in 1983 making dough where he began working towards his bigger picture. Through research and lots of practice, John crafted the sauce and dough recipes that create the pizza we know and love today. He continued to refine the menu with new specialty pizzas and the addition of subs, salads, dinners, and appetizers. We can’t forget about the Mandee Sandees that John and Alicia developed together. Alicia went to SSU for Business Administration and ended up focusing on Hospitality, the industry she grew to love. She grew very fond of the family business joining alongside her father in his mission to continue to serve quality comfort food in a family atmosphere to the people of Salem. Both John and Alicia will tell you their why is you! Yes they have fun making pizzas and crafting new menu items, but what keeps them going is the community. They both love interacting with all of their customers and building relationships with the community. Not only are they happy to see familiar faces, but they love when a new face becomes a familiar one over time.
