Hello, I’m Lynka Smith, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC. As an Air Force and Navy veteran, I bring over 20 years of diverse nursing experience to my practice. My journey began at Nicholls State University in Louisiana, and I proudly served in the Navy Nurse Corps, where my passion for mental health was born. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, oncology, medical/surgical units, home infusions, and private practice. These experiences have shaped my holistic, patient-centered approach to care.
My special interests include working with veterans, adolescents, and individuals coping with eating disorders and PTSD. I provide comprehensive mental health care, including education about treatment options, therapy recommendations, and medication management when appropriate. I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where we work as a team to create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
For your convenience, I offer video appointments for patients aged 4 to 60. I understand the challenges that arise when times are hard and money is tight, and I’m committed to ensuring that mental health remains a priority. Please reach out if you’re looking for compassionate, personalized care. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve balance and well-being.
Treatment Philosophy:
