RUN FOR THE HILLS
This guy abandoned his job without notifying us, failed to sign outstanding documents, so one of our policies was canceled with no warning. This has put our mortgage in jeopardy. We are still locked into paying for this cancelled policy and several other active policies that we've since replaced with another company, and there is no way to contact anyone else at "Comparion Insurance" to get our policies canceled and stop paying (literally every single phone number on the web goes to dead voicemail, and there is a sign on the door saying "office temporarily closed."
Liberty Mutual (the parent company) refused to help—saying Comparion is independent. We can only send Kai Chen an email asking him to contact you. Which he did not!
We got a bill in the mail from an insurer giving us two days to either pay or be uninsured. We called that insurer, explained the situation and asked if we could receive a prorated refund if we canceled the policy after the situation with the selling agent at Comparion was resolved. We were assured that we would receive the refund. After it was clear that the entire Comparion corporation are deadbeats, we switched to State Farm. Not only did the insurer decline to give us the promised prorated refund, they told Us we'd have to pay an additional $4,000.
The insurance companies will only let us cancel our active redundant policies if the agent initiates the change, but the agent no longer exists.
If you ever see Kai Chen working at any company in any capacity, I would highly recommend running far away. His gross incompetence, disdain, and disregard for customers poses a huge danger to your safety and livelihood.
