She is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University.

She worked as an RN at an inpatient psychiatric facility where she worked with both adolescents and adults. During her time at Vanderbilt, she trained at various community mental health clinics in middle Tennessee.
