Dr. Iveta Swaim has known she wanted to be a doctor since she was five years old. A native of Czechoslovakia, after practicing medicine there for a year she made the transition to the American medical system in Charlotte, N.C. in 1999. She loves to collaborate with peers and patients alike to have the best possible impact on their health, beginning with prevention. She enjoys getting to know her patients, their special health needs and their concerns. When she's not working, Dr. Swaim enjoys playing tennis and piano, figure skating and taking ski trips out west. Her favorite place to vacation for her and her children is her home country. She loves staying in touch with her roots and keeping her Slovak heritage, language and culture alive.
