Dr. Dan (Staten) is a 1983 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree from UM-C in Animal Husbandry in 1979. Dr. Dan grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis. His passion for animals and their welfare was present at an early age. He attended high school in Florissant, Missouri where he excelled at running. His athletic achievements led him to a college scholarship in Track & Cross Country. Upon completing his Doctorate, he moved to Illinois. Dr. Dan worked at several practices in Lake County but in 1994 he was able to achieve his dream of clinic ownership when he purchased the Hebron Animal Clinic, originally located on Maple Avenue. After 15 years, a bigger dream was secured and the construction began on our brand-new facility which opened on September 1, 2010. Dr. Dan enjoys the small town practice & knowing most clients and his patients very well. He is a father to four wonderful children; Ryan, Nicholas, Jennifer & Jordan. He is also a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church. During his free time he enjoys watching sports and spending time with his four-legged kids; Melvin an 11-yr. old Labrador mix, Beanie a 2-yr. old Minature Poodle and Toddy, a 1-yr. old kitty.
