Things did not get off to a good start and got worse. I went in for my initial evaluation. I was there early and the PT came and got me at 10:01AM. Their own online description of what to expect said to expect the appointment to take an hour. I was released at 10:31 AM. I was surprised at the short appointment but I also did not feel like he asked enough questions and I don't recall him doing any range of motion tests... Seemed he went straight to having me do stretches that actually did me more harm than good. I called too register my concerns prior to my 2nd appointment but no one returned my call. At my 2nd appointment I voiced my complaint to the PT Assistant and refused to do those same stretches at that appointment. Back to the initial appointment, he also barely looked at the MRI results I provided and frankly I was astounded by his seemingly dismissing the significance of the reports. As I said at my 2nd appointment I let the PT Assistant know that I did not feel like I got a thorough evaluation and that given the amount of damage revealed in my MRI I thought it was completely inappropriate to have had such a brief evaluation. She acted like I was just being difficult. Actually mentioning my pain making me difficult. What?!?!?! NO!!! At some point she also told me that I would very likely never see the PT again and stated this was pretty standard. Years ago I went to PT in another State for a different issue over several weeks and I saw that PT EVERY appointment. Yes, she would turn me over to an assistant for the bulk of the rest of the appointment but she always assessed my progress and addressed any physical complaints I had whether they were related to the original problem or not. She was also super about answering questions. This kind of care is what I consider professional, attentive and appropriate. The care I got at H2 health really fails at all of the above. The 2 PT Assistance I saw in my 4 subsequent visits did their jobs I suppose by giving me the stretches to do and for how long. But, that was pretty much it. They asked few if any questions about my progress and they didn't encourage me to ask questions. All 4 of my subsequent visits lasted for only 45 minutes. There online info. says to expect 45 minutes to an hour. I couldn't help but notice however, that people that went back at the same time as me were still there when I was told I was done. I can't help wonder why that was especially enlight of the amount of damage revealed in my MRIs. So even though I was not getting good quality care I was going to stick with it because starting over at another location would be expensive... Then I start having trouble with my insurance and I was seeing what H2health was charging my insurance company. I stop going for 2 reasons the insurance company is new to me and I wasn't sure what to expect. But, I also see that H2 health has charged my insurance by a multiple of 5 what the self pay price is. Then they generously (not) do a provider discount...It gets complicated from here but the bottom line is they expect me to pay close to double what I believe I owe over and above what my insurance company paid. Which is triple with what the insurance company did pay. I have tried to talk to them about it without success. In fact it's my fault they are over charging me because that is what my insurance company allows them to get away with. What!?!?! It has been years since I have seen a physical therapist so I'm sure things have changed but lordy lordy lordy do I hope not all of them have slid down as far as H2health. Go any place else people.
