He is expert at Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate HoLEP (a minimally invasive BPH outpatient surgery suitable for any sized prostate including the remarkably large glands) having mentored surgeons learning this technique nationally and internationally at large teaching institutions.
Dr. Batstone cared for patients at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Maine, from 2007-2024, where he was Chief of Surgery from 2019-2021; president-elect and chairman of the Bylaws and Credentials Committee from 2021-2023; and president of the medical staff from July 2023 until his departure. He also worked in Bangor, Maine, from 2012-2023. His medical career spans more than 30 years, and he is currently vice president of the Maine Urological Association.
