Underwater treadmills are great conditioning and rehabilitation tools. Our sports medicine team can help with strengthening and conditioning, as well as post op recovery and pain management.

Our surgeons recognize the value of collaboration with you, and your regular veterinarian, as a comprehensive team for your pet’s care.

If your animal develops a problem or injury requiring advanced care and procedures, your primary care veterinarian may refer you to an ACVS Diplomate (a board-certified veterinary surgeon) at Central Hospital

Central Hospital offers advanced experience in soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures.

The Exotic Animal Department at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine sees avian, small companion exotic mammals, and reptile/amphibian species by appointment.

MRI allows us to perform advanced imaging of the brain, spinal cord, muscles, tendons, and other structures. MRI allows visualization of complex anatomical areas with great detail to provide the most accurate diagnostic information for our specialists and your veterinarian.

Ultrasound uses sound waves to form images of internal anatomy. We utilize ultrasound daily to get detailed images of internal organs, muscles, tendons, and other structures to quickly and reliably help diagnose many abdominal, thoracic and musculoskeletal conditions.

Central Hospital is a trauma center, staffed and equipped to manage life-threatening conditions. Our emergency room is staffed by experienced veterinarians with specialty training in emergency medicine, and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Acupuncture stimulates specific points to alleviate discomfort. As pet owners, we share a deep bond with our furry companions. Their well-being is our utmost priority. Since 1975, Central Hospital has been caring for pets and their human companions in Southern CT.

Central Hospital has a board certified ophthalmologist. Some eye conditions can often be managed by your pet’s primary care veterinarian. However, many eye diseases require the attention of an ophthalmologist for advanced medical and surgical treatment.
