Cainhoy Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in 2021 and is proud to be a state-of-the-art, full-service veterinary hospital. We are a low-stress handling, Fear-Free Certified, and Cat-Friendly Practices® accredited hospital treating the dogs and cats of the Cainhoy historic district in Charleston, SC, and surrounding areas. Our services include wellness care, sick visits, vaccinations, microchipping, parasite control, x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, dental, surgery including spay and neuter, orthopedic surgery, ACL reconstruction, pain management, and more! We are open six days a week with same-day and urgent care availability. We look forward to meeting you and your pet!

At Cainhoy Veterinary Hospital, we understand the idea of your beloved pet undergoing surgery can be stressful and scary. Our clinical team will be here for you and your pet every step of the way, providing education around the surgery, offering comfort through the process, and extending the care and compassion you both deserve.

Pet who are hospitalized or in for treatment will stay in our brand new cages. We have a variation of sizes, and are sure to provide them with comfortable bedding, as well as TLC to ensure they enjoy their visit!
Our practice manager, Lusie, examines a sample using a microscope in our convenient, fully equipped in-house lab. We are able to perform urinalysis, parasite testing, fungal cultures, blood work, and much more.

We keep wait times to a minimum. If there is a short wait, have a seat in our comfortable and bright waiting area!

We understand that vet visits can be stressful for our patients, so we do everything we can to give lots of love and attention to help create as pleasant an experience as possible!

Part of our patient's annual visit includes and dental exam. Dr. Ingle checks for dental disease, which is about more than bad breath, but about your pet’s complete health! Oral bacteria puts pets at risk for painful teeth and gums, and more serious issues like organ damage.

We're low-stress certified! Here, we're using squeeze cheese to help distract our beautiful feline patient. We've also sprayed the exam room with Feliway. We're using lots of face rubbing and other calming touches to aid us in staying below the cat's stress threshold.

We are low-stress handling certified! Here, Dr. Ingle is using a treat mat filled with hidden treats. Our patient, Lola, is so interested (distracted) by the fun of looking for treats that she doesn't notice Dr. Ingle petting and performing a full physical exam! Lola now has a very large, very bright positive association with coming into the exam room.
